Solid Wall Fix

Fix into a solid wall in place of an outer post

The wall face sits on the inner face of the outer post it replaces. Cleats fix into the wall in the same number and orientation.

⚠ Critical Notes

For Fire Ratings up to 60 minutes, first layer of board to be 15mm British Gypsum Duraline or Siniat 15mm Universal to both sides of partition incorporating B-Post. See ‘Betan B-Post System – Install Guide’ for more information.

Maximum 20mm +/- deflection or 45mm downward deflection. For deflections outside this range please contact Betan Technical.

Weight of wall above opening not to exceed 75kg/m².

Openings for roller shutters or sliding screens are not covered by this tool. These impose loads the standard B-Post arrangement is not assessed for and may require an upgraded specification — contact Betan Technical for review before ordering.

Notes

Unless noted otherwise all openings require integration with partition wall systems, and boarding with plasterboard; screwed up around openings at 150mm centres.
All installations should be carried out in line with details found in the ‘Betan B-Post System – Install Guide’.
Minimum wall size above door head lintel is 100mm timber to timber.
Minimum wall size between the top of the uppermost opening lintel and the top of the head channel is 300mm.

Cutting List — by Unique ID

B-Post lengths: full-height jamb studs are supplied at storey height + 100mm to be cut down on site, up to a maximum of 5000mm. All other components are supplied at 1200mm, 2000mm, 2400mm or 3000mm, taking the next size up; anything over 3000mm is supplied at the required length + 100mm to cut on site. Indicative quantities — confirm lengths and pack sizes with Betan before cutting.
